You cannot live forever in other worlds,
Worlds of fiction, of mind, of religion, of politics, of sport, of music, of . . .
No matter how satisfying they may be,
Or what you strive to accomplish,
Stay too long and you risk losing touch,
Not just with the wider reality around you,
But with yourself as well.

Reality is subjective. To lose touch then is not to have a balanced view of something that we cannot know is true. Does that matter?

For most people, perhaps not, but for certain others (those who have power over others: politicians, judges, and so on) it can matter very much both for them and for those they serve.
I’d also say that I disagree completely with the phrase ‘reality is subective’. Reality isn’t subjective, it is simply what *is*. What is subjective, however is our perception of reality and the further those two vary, the more problems we’ll have interacting with the world around us.
